This was painted partly on location, partly in studio. I inserted myself from a photo reference. I was interested in the glowing color of the pears and light on the grass, as compared with the deep shadows of the pear tree. 20 x 30 Oil. In Private Collection.
These chairs are at the Dixon Gallery & Gardens in Memphis. I was interested in the dappled light falling on the ground and chairs, plus the intricate structures of the chairs placed against the more organic natural forms. 16 x 20 Oil. Available as signed print.

I painted this on location at Horn Island. This is the island where Walter Anderson, the painter from MS would go to paint for long periods of time. He would row to the island from the mainland, about 5 miles I believe, no easy task on open water.
8x10 oil on canvas, available.
This was the original entry to the Brooks museum. I painted this scene partly on location, partly in studio. The warm sunlight late in the day was making patterns across the facade. I set up on location about 4 times to complete this painting, since the light lasted such a short time. 24x36 oil on canvas.
The first day I painted this, the bridge was being rebuilt, so I came back nearly a year later when the bridge was back in place, to finish the painting.
I attended a Regatta, or sailing event at this Yacht Club in Marseille, France. I was fascinated by the warm glow of the late sun and the mesmerizing reflections. Available.
